Pascal "Panzer" Krauss (born April 19, 1987 in Breisach ) is a German mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) who fights welterweight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

life and career

Pascal Krauss was undefeated in his MMA career until May 5, 2012 and had stopped almost all of his opponents within the first two rounds. After beating John Quinn on May 22, 2010 at the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship Right to Fight Event, he is the current Cage Warriors welterweight champion. He inherits the famous English MMA fighter Dan Hardy, who was not allowed to keep the title in 2008 when he signed a contract with the UFC. The well-known MMA website sherdog.com published an interview with Pascal on July 24th 2010 for their "Prospect-Watch" column. Sherdog.com also mentions him in a July 28, 2010 article on 'The Top 10 Undefeated European MMA Fighters of the Future'.

Pascal Krauss' martial arts career began at the age of 14 when he started boxing . During his five-year career as a boxer, he won a German junior championship and came second in the German championships. This second place was his only defeat in a total of 18 boxing matches. He was also active in the juniors of the Freiburg wrestling club 'RKG Freiburg 2000'. Through his contact with the judo black belt and free fighter Gregor Herb, Pascal began with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in 2007 and soon played his first MMA fight. In 2009 he spent some time in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil to train under the acclaimed BJJ trainer Roberto “Gordo” Correa. After eight weeks of training with other MMA fighters such as Antonio Braga Neto, Rafael dos Anjos, Delson Heleno and the legend Vitor Belfort , Pascal was awarded the blue belt. A trip through the USA in the spring of 2010 took Pascal to Renzo Gracie's MMA Academy in New York and to the Cesar Gracie MMA team. In the latter gym, Pascal trained with the famous fighters Jake Shields , Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez.

In August 2010 Krauss signed a contract for a total of four fights at the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He made his UFC debut on November 13, 2010 at UFC 122 in Oberhausen , where he defeated Mark Scanlon from England on points.

Krauss had to take a break for over a year after his fight against Scanlon due to an injury. A long-planned fight against the British John Hathaway took place on May 5, 2012. Krauss lost the fight unanimously on points.

On September 29, 2012 Krauss was supposed to meet the undefeated Icelander Gunnar Nelson at UFC on Fuel TV 5 in Nottingham , England . Just two weeks before the event, however, Krauss injured himself again and had to cancel the fight.

Krauss then met Mike Stumpf on January 26, 2013 at UFC on Fox 6 and clearly prevailed on points.

In 2014 he took part in the RTL dome show Die Bachelorette .
