history

Alexander the Great is said to be in 325 BC. During his march back from the Indian campaign - when he moved via Bela , Awaran , Hoshab and Turbat and then along the coast via Pasni and Gwadar through Makran - stopped in Pasni ( called Cysa by Arrian in his Indica ) to join them to meet his admiral Nearchus and his fleet; the meeting, which was supposed to provide his troops with water and food, did not take place.

In 1581, Pasni was burned down by troops from Portuguese India as part of a punitive operation .

The place was attacked again in 1898 when the Baluchi, who rebelled against British rule , looted the city and destroyed the telegraph connection to Gwadar.
