Pasqualino De Santis

Pasqualino De Santis (born April 24, 1927 in Fondi ( Latium ), † June 23, 1996 in Lviv , Ukraine ) was an Italian cameraman .

De Santis initially worked as a camera assistant and simple cameraman from the 1950s. From the mid-1960s he was active as an independent cameraman and as such was involved in more than 50 film and television productions.

The highlights of his career were three awards:

Pasqualino De Santis was the brother of the Italian director Giuseppe De Santis . Occasionally he was listed in the opening credits or credits of the films with his real name Pasquale De Santis or as Pasqualino de Santis. He worked with the directors Francesco Rosi , Luchino Visconti , Franco Zeffirelli and Robert Bresson .

He died of a heart attack in 1996 in the Ukraine while filming his last film " Breathing Time ". The film didn't hit theaters until 1998.
