Patimat Serajutdinovna Abakarova ( Russian Патимат Серажутдиновна Абакарова , German transcription Patimat Seraschutdinovna Abakarova ; born October 23, 1994 in Makhachkala , Russia ) is a Russian-born taekwondoin who has competed in Azerbaijan since 2013 . It starts in the Olympic weight class up to 49 kilograms.

Patimat Abakarova fought internationally under the Russian flag in her youth, before she decided to fight for Azerbaijan in 2013. At the 2015 European Games in Baku , she won her first bronze medal in the weight class up to 49 kilograms. The following year she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she lost 3-2 to Tijana Bogdanović in the first round . In the round of hope she prevailed 4: 3 against Wu Jingyu and 7: 2 against Yasmina Aziez , with which she secured the bronze medal. In 2016 Abakarova also became Vice European Champion in the weight class up to 53 kilograms in Montreux . In Kazan followed in 2018 winning the bronze medal in the weight category up to 49 kilograms.
