Luis Aguilar (actor)

Luis Aguilar Manzo (born January 29, 1918 in Hermosillo , † October 24, 1997 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican actor and singer.

Aguilar studied at the Colegio Militar and began a career as an engineer in the army. He soon broke this off and then worked, among other things, in the agricultural department of the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público and in Mazatlan as a shark catcher. He moved to Mexico City in the early 1940s, where he starred in the 1944 film Sota, Caballo y Rey . In his numerous films he played with actors such as Pedro Infante , Jorge Negrete , Germán Valdés Tin Tan , Víctor Parra , Pedro Armendáriz , María Félix , Joaquín Pardavé , Marga López , Rosita Quintana , Leticia Palma , Pedro Vargas , Columba Domínguez , Lilia Prado , Eulalio González Piporro and Emilio Fernández together. As a singer, he recorded eight albums. Since 1957 he was married to the actress Rosario Gálvez in second marriage . From the early 1980s he worked in several telenovelas.
