The Patriarchal Exarchate Jerusalem ( Latin Hierosolymitanus ) is a Patriarchal Exarchate of the Syrian Catholic Church located in the Palestinian Territories , Israel and Jordan and has its seat in Jerusalem . It includes three parishes: in Jerusalem (St. Thomas), Bethlehem (St. Joseph) and Amman (Mary's Conception).

history

The Jerusalem Patriarchal Vicariate was founded in 1892. The seat of the patriarchal exarch was initially near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem until it was moved to Bethlehem in 1948 . He returned to Jerusalem in 1965. Since 1973 the seat of the Patriarchal Exarch has been on Chaldean Street, where the Church of St. Thomas, the adjoining Foyer Saint Thomas and the Youth Center were founded in 1986 . In 1991 the vicariate was elevated to an exarchate.
