Patrick Bianco

Patrick Bianco (born October 21, 1977 in Zurich ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( alto saxophone , band leader).

Live and act

Bianco completed his basic musical training in the Verein Jugendmusik Zürich 11 and then played as a saxophonist in the Harmonie Oerlikon-Seebach Klassik. He then moved to the North Big Band , with which he won soloist awards. In addition, he learned the profession of IT application developer .

After several international master class workshops, he studied music at the Bern University of the Arts until 2015 . He leads the groups Cannonsoul , dedicated to the music of Cannonball Adderley , and Al Bone . He is also the lead alto in the Swiss Jazzschool Big Band under Bert Joris , as well as occasionally in the Swiss Jazz Orchestra (conducted by George Robert ), in the Swiss Army Gala and Big Band conducted by Pepe Lienhard and in the pop and Galaband Santandrea active. He can also be heard on albums by Pepe Lienhard, Quincy Jones , Robi Weber , Sandy Patton and Nicole Herzog .

Prizes and awards

His quartet Al Bone won the second prize of the Chrysler Jazz Award at the 2004 Montreux Jazz Festival . With his band Cannonsoul he won the Swiss Jazz Award in 2016 .
