Patrick Bosch (born October 30, 1964 - May 11, 2012 in Denekamp ) was a Dutch football player. As a professional, the defender and defensive midfielder played for FC Twente from Enschede and FC Emmen .

Career

As a youth, Bosch played at the RSC Rossum in his home town of Rossum , just under 20 km north of Enschede. He came to FC Twente when he was still young, where he was under contract as an active player from 1984 to 1989. He made his debut in the Eredivisie with the resurrected two days before his 20th birthday on October 28, 1984 in an away game at FC Volendam . At the Tukkers he mostly played as a right back in a team with Fred Rutten , Theo ten Caat , Pieter Huistra and Theo Snelders . He developed under coach Fritz Korbach in the second half of the 1984/85 season to a regular player, in the following season he came to 30 appearances in the league. After changing coach to Theo Vonk , he played in all 34 games in the 1986/87 season. The team of technical director Kees Rijvers developed into a new strength; younger players like Andy Scharmin or Wilfried Elzinga pushed into the team of third place in the 1987/88 table. Bosch was used 19 times in the 1988/89 season, when Twente came third for the second time in a row.

After a total of 121 league and six cup games (he scored his only goal for Twente in the 1986/87 KNVB Cup ), Bosch moved to FC Emmen in the Eerste divisie for the 1989/90 season . He was active for the team from the border town for four years and made 138 competitive appearances. In 1990, the team only narrowly failed in the relegation round on promotion to the Eredivisie. Bosch scored his only league goal for Emmen.

He then played, together with his former Twente team-mate Evert Bleuming , in the top amateur class with the amateurs of RKVV Stevo in Geesteren, trained by Epi Drost . With Bosch, the team won the Dutch Sunday Class Amateur Championship in 1994.

In the 2000s and until his death, Bosch worked as a youth trainer for the Denekamp association DOS'19.

Bosch died at the age of 47 in a car accident on the night of May 10-11, 2012 in his home town of Denekamp.
