During the 2005/06 season he also completed a total of 45 games for league rivals Windsor Spitfires and scored 59 points.

In the same season Davis was also for the Albany River Rats , the then farm team of the New Jersey Devils , active in the American Hockey League and completed three games in which he remained pointless and received two penalty minutes. In the 2005 NHL Entry Draft , Davis was selected in the fourth round at a total of 99th position by the New Jersey Devils. The following two seasons he spent exclusively with the Lowell Devils in the AHL and was able to increase his point yield.
