Patrick Eluke

Patrick Eluke (born March 25, 1967 in Ekpeye , Rivers , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Port Harcourt .

Life

Patrick Eluke first attended the minor seminary in Port Harcourt before studying philosophy at Bigard Memorial Seminary in Ikot Ekpene and Catholic theology in Enugu . He received on 23 September 1995, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Eluke was at the University of Port Harcourt in specialist biblical criticism doctorate .

Patrick Eluke then worked as parish vicar in the parish of St. Anthony in Igwuruta before he became pastor of the parish of St. Bernard in Biara in 1996 . From 1997 to 2002 he was pastor of the parishes of St. Dominic in Bane , St. Francis in Kpean and St. Paul in Ngo . In 2005 Eluke became pastor of the parish Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Elenlenwo and in 2007 pastor of the parish Queen of the Apostles Parish in Rumuepirikom . From 2012 to 2013 he served as pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Diobu before becoming a student chaplain at Port Harcourt University. Since 2014, Patrick Eluke has taught biblical studies at Port Harcourt University. In 2015 he also became pastor of the parish of St. Francis of Assisi in Rumuokwuta and in 2016 he was responsible for vocational pastoral care in the Diocese of Port Harcourt.

On February 12, 2019 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Photice and Auxiliary Bishop of Port Harcourt. The Apostolic Nuncio in Nigeria, Archbishop Antonio Filipazzi , ordained him episcopal on May 9th of the same year in the Cathedral of Port Harcourt . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Calabar , Joseph Effiong Ekuwem , and the Bishop of Port Harcourt, Camillus Archibong Etokudoh .
