Patrick Taval

Patrick Taval MSC (born May 4, 1956 in Taranga , † April 29, 2013 ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Kerema .

Life

Patrick Taval joined the order of the Sacred Heart Missionaries and was ordained a priest on January 8, 1984 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Rabaul and titular bishop of Thimida on June 22, 1999 . The Archbishop of Rabaul, Karl Hesse MSC, donated him episcopal ordination on October 2nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Desmond Charles Moore MSC, Bishop of Alotau-Sideia , and Ambrose Kiapseni MSC, Bishop of Kavieng . He was vicar general and coordinator of pastoral care.

On December 6, 2007 he was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Kerema . With the retirement of Paul John Marx 'MSC on March 13, 2010, he succeeded him as Bishop of Kerema.
