The Bistum Alotau Sideia ( lat. : Dioecesis Alotaunus-Sideianus ) is in Papua New Guinea preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Alotau . Its territory includes the province of Milne Bay .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Prefecture Samarai on June 13, 1946 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Papua . On November 11, 1956, she was raised to the rank of Vicariate Apostolic .

On November 15, 1966 she was raised to the diocese of Sideia with the Apostolic Constitution Laeta Incrementa and on April 28, 1975 it took its current name.
