The Bistum Daru-Kiunga ( lat. : Dioecesis Daruensis-Kiunganus ) is in Papua New Guinea preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Kiunga . It is located in the western province on the border with the Archdiocese of Merauke .
history
Pope John XXIII founded with the Apostolic Constitution Qui per electionem on July 16, 1959, the Apostolic Prefecture Daru from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Port Moresby .
On November 15, 1966, she was raised to the Diocese of Daru with the Apostolic Constitution Laeta Incrementa and on September 4, 1987, it took its current name. The bishopric is located in Kiunga , in the North Fly District.
