Francesco Panfilo SDB (born November 23, 1942 in Vilminore di Scalve , Bergamo province ) is an Italian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Rabaul .

Life

Francesco Panfilo entered the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and received on 27 April 1974, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 25 June 2001 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Alotau-Sideia . The bishop emeritus of Alotau-Sideia, Desmond Charles Moore MSC , donated him episcopal ordination on September 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Maasin , Precioso Cantillas SDB, and the Bishop of Dili , Carlos Filipe Ximenes Belo SDB. On June 19, 2020, Pope Francis accepted Francesco Panfilo's resignation because of his age.
