Paul Jean Marx MSC (born March 12, 1935 in Mutzig ; † June 19, 2018 ) was a French religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Kerema in Papua New Guinea .

Life

Paul Jean Marx joined the religious order of the Sacred Heart Missionaries and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Kerema on May 3, 1985 . The Archbishop of Port Moresby , Peter Kurongku , donated him episcopal ordination on December 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Virgil Patrick Copas MSC, Archbishop ad personam and Bishop of Kerema, and Benedict To Varpin , Bishop of Bereina .

With the resignation of Virgil Patrick Copas' MSC on December 6, 1988, he succeeded him as Bishop of Kerema. On March 13, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
