Paul Adegboyega Olawoore

Paul Adegboyega Olawoore (born November 30, 1961 in Ikuri , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Ilorin .

Life

Paul Adegboyega Olawoore studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the St. Peter and Paul Seminary in Bodija. He received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Oyo on October 3, 1992 .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he was personal secretary to the Bishop of Oyo, Julius Babatunde Adelakun, from 1993 to 2000 . From 2001 to 2003 he studied canon law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome and obtained a licentiate . After his return he became official of his home diocese and in 2006 head of the diocesan family committee. In addition, he was pastor and school principal in Ogbomosho as well as regional dean from 2011 until his appointment as bishop .

On April 4, 2018 Pope appointed him Francis the Coadjutor Bishop of Ilorin . The bishop of Ilorin, Ayo-Maria Atoyebi OP , donated his episcopal ordination on July 13th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Oyo, Emmanuel Adetoyese Badejo and the Bishop of Ondo , Jude Ayodeji Arogundade .

With Ayo-Maria Atoyebi's resignation on June 11, 2019, he succeeded him as Bishop of Ilorin.
