Ayo-Maria Atoyebi

Ayo-Maria Atoyebi OP (born December 3, 1944 in Okerimi-Oro , Ghana ) is a Ghanaian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Ilorin .

Life

Ayo-Maria Atoyebi entered the religious order of the Dominicans and received on 17 December 1978, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 6, 1992, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ilorin . The Archbishop of Kaduna , Peter Yariyok Jatau , donated him episcopal ordination on May 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the coadjutor bishop of Abuja , John Onaiyekan , and the bishop of Ibadan , Felix Alaba Adeosin Job .

Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on June 11, 2019.
