Paul Arnold Walty (born January 5, 1881 in Aarburg , † 1969 in Lugano ) was a Swiss football player .

Life

Originally from Aarburg in the canton of Aargau , Walty was one of the many Swiss footballers who played in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century and did important pioneering work there for this sport. He played in the position of the outside runner , today comparable to a defensive midfielder .

A contemporary sports journalist described him as follows:

“Walty, il ventriloquo della squadra, gode pure nel pubblico di molte simpatie, per la sua tenacia, per la sua abilità e per il suo aureo silenzio nella partita. Ha il solo torto di avere i baffi già un po 'lunghi. "

“Walty, the team's ventriloquist , also enjoyed great sympathy from the audience for his tenacity, agility and his golden calm during the games. His only bad luck is his mustache, which is a little too long . "

The Swiss was a regular in the final round, which took place from March 5 to April 9, and won the first championship title in club history with the Turin club.
