Paul Haletzki
Paul Haletzki (born May 12, 1911 in Koblenz-Metternich ; † December 7, 2000 ) was a German conductor and composer of light music .
Life
Haletzki studied from 1925 to 1929 at the orchestra school of the State Music Academy in Cologne . He chose the harp as his major and passed his exam in it. In 1932 he supplemented his musical training by studying composition - again at the Cologne University of Music . In 1936 he passed his matriculation examination with Philipp Jarnach . At first he worked for the Reichsender Köln and then took a position as Kapellmeister in Beuthen in Upper Silesia .
From 1940 to 1945 he participated in the war . He was captured by the Soviets , from which he was released in 1950. He returned to Cologne and became a freelancer (arranger and composer) for Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR).
He also played and taught the cinema organ and ran the Centraton music publishing house in Odenthal .

Haletzki wrote upscale light music from orchestral to musical - and schlager-like pieces. The best known is his Intermezzo scherzoso father and son for flute piccolo ( clarinet or soprano saxophone ), bassoon ( alto / baritone saxophone or tenor saxophone ) and piano . He was inspired by the picture stories of the same name by Erich Ohser alias eoplauen. It was arranged for a small orchestra by Bernd Alois Zimmermann . He wrote the music for the musical Mister M , based on texts by Herbert Hennies and produced by WDR in 1970 (no stage performance) . His short ballet pieces The juggler was established in April 1954 in Bielefeld premiered .

- 1954: The Juggler (ballet, 60 min), premiere: Bielefeld (Städtische Bühnen), April 8, 1954.
- 1968: Impression phantastique ( Oberwerk , 9 min).
- 1970: Mister M (musical, 2 h 30 min), musical premiere: Cologne (WDR), 1970.
- 1973: Der Mensch ... der Mensch (choir symphony, 19 min), premier: Recklinghausen ( Ruhrfestspiele ), 1973.
- 1981: father and son (intermezzo scherzoso).
- 1985: Suite for flute and piano .
