Paul Kraszon

Paul Kraszon (born March 3, 1918 in Ruda, Ratibor district , Upper Silesia ) is a former functionary of the SED in the GDR .

Life

Kraszon, son of a miner , also worked as a miner and later as a steiger in Upper Silesia after attending primary school and vocational school . During the Second World War he did his military service in the Wehrmacht as a fireworker .

After the end of the war, he joined the SED as a member in 1946 and worked as a plant manager at the VEB Braunkohlenwerk Pfännerhall in Braunsbedra , before he was Secretary for Agriculture of the SED district management in Chemnitz between August 1952 and February 1953 .

In February 1953, Kraszon succeeded Eberhard Arlt as head of the basic industry department of the Central Committee of the SED . In June 1953 he was punished by a party, and in April 1954 he handed over this office to Berthold Handwerker . He himself then became plant manager at VEB Steinkohlenwerk Martin Hoop in Zwickau and was also a member of the SED city management in Zwickau.
