Paul LaDue (born September 6, 1992 in Grand Forks , North Dakota ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League since April 2016 and at the same time for their farm team , the Ontario Reign , in of the American Hockey League plays on the position of defender .

Career

LaDue spent his junior years among other things between 2010 and 2011 with the Alexandria Blizzard in the North American Hockey League and from 2011 to 2013 the Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League . During his time with the Stars, he was selected in the sixth round in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in 181st place by the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League . Shortly before his 21st birthday, the defense attorney enrolled at the University of North Dakota, majoring in social science . For the university he ran for the next three years until spring 2016 for the ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference , a division in the game operations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association .

At the end of the season in April 2016, LaDue signed a professional contract with the Los Angeles Kings, which he ended his studies early. At the end of the 2015/16 season , he was in three play-off games for the Ontario Reign , Los Angeles' farm team in the American Hockey League . The defender also began the 2016/17 season with the Reign, before he was appointed to the Kings NHL squad for the first time in February 2017 and made his debut there a little later.
