Paul Lorenz (born February 17, 1987 in Volgograd , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a Soviet-Russian-German professional dancer and dance sports trainer .

Life

Lorenz came to Germany with his family at the age of 12. He discovered his interest in dance as a student. He began playing tournament sports in the fields of standard and Latin at the beginning of the 21st century. From September 2008 to August 2014 he danced with Ekaterina Leonova in the main group S-Standard and -Latein. The couple started for Art of Dance in Cologne. His new partner was Yulia Spesivtseva, with whom he switched to the German Professional Dance Sports Association. Lorenz was a member of the federal squad of the German Dance Sport Association from 2005 to 2013 , most recently of the B-squad.

Paul Lorenz studied at the German Sport University Cologne and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in sports management and sports communication. In 2015 he took part in the eighth season of the RTL dance show " Let's Dance ". His dance partner was Katja Burkard , with whom he initially dropped out in the seventh episode. After Ralf Bauer withdrew from the show due to illness, the couple also took part in the eighth episode "Let's Dance", but dropped out again at the end of the show. In 2016 he took part in the tenth season of the ORF dance show " Dancing Stars " as a dance partner of the Austrian actress and cabaret artist Nina Hartmann .
