Paul McGinley (born December 16, 1966 in Dublin ) is an Irish professional golfer who has played on the PGA European Tour for many years . He went down in golf history in 2002 when he pocketed the winning putt for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup .

McGinley started his professional career in 1991 and has so far won four tournaments on the European Tour , including the major annual final tournament , the Volvo Masters in 2005, and a third place in the money list in the same year .

He currently lives in Sunningdale , England .
