Paul Daniel Minick (born December 17, 1899 in Villisca , Iowa , USA , † December 22, 1978 in Springfield , Missouri ) was an American football player . He played among other things as a guard in the National Football League (NFL) with the Green Bay Packers .

career

Paul Minick attended in Des Moines , the High School . After graduating from school, he studied at the University of Iowa from 1920 to 1922 . There he was active as an American football player. In all three years of study he was recognized by his college for his athletic achievements. In 1926 he joined the New York Yankees for a year . The Yankees played in the one-year American Football League that year. In 1927 Minick moved to the Buffalo Bisons in the NFL, who had to stop playing during the season. In 1928 he was then signed by the Green Bay Packers trained by Curly Lambeau .

By 1929, the Packers were reinforced by numerous all-pro players such as LaVern Dilweg , Eddie Kotal , John McNally or Mike Michalske . As a guard, Minick had the task of protecting his own blocking back and blocking the way into the opposing end zone for his own running backs . Minick won the NFL championship that year with the Green Bay team . After this season, Paul Minick ended his career.
