Paul Omba-Biongolo (* 28. December 1995 in Vienne ) is a French boxer in the heavyweight division .

Career

Paul Omba-Biongolo is around 1.87 m tall and started boxing in 2006. He finished third at the French championships in 2015 and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan against Abdulqədir Abdullayev (0: 3). At the 2015 World Championships in Qatar , he lost in the first fight against Chouaib Bouloudinats (0: 3). For this he won the Box-Am tournament in Spain , the chemistry cup in Germany and the Tammer tournament in Finland in the same year . His most important win was against Clemente Russo (3-0).

In 2016 he became French champion and took part in the European Olympic qualification in Turkey , where he won against Armend Xhoxhaj (3: 0), Igor Jakubowski (2: 1), Alen Babić (TKO) and Heworh Manukjan (3: 0) could buy an Olympic ticket. At the 2016 Olympic Games in England he was defeated again in the first duel against Abdulqədir Abdullayev (TKO).

In March 2017 he won the gold medal at the U22 European Championships in Romania after beating Dmitrij Fomin (TKO), Indrit Laçi (TKO), Roy Korving (5: 0), Narek Manasyan (3: 2) and Toni Filipi (3 : 2) prevailed. He was then called up in June at the European Championships 2017 in Ukraine , where he won a bronze medal. After victories against Kristian Dimitrov (3: 2) and Ramasan Muslimow (3: 2), he was eliminated in the semifinals against Yevgeny Tishchenko (0: 5). This year he was also third again in the national championships.

In June 2018, he won a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Spain after losing to Toni Filipi in the semifinals . In November of the same year he lost at the EU championships in Spain in the first fight against the Finn Krenar Aliu.
