Paul Schulze-Berghof

Paul Schulze-Berghof ( pseudonym for Paul Schulze ; born April 16, 1873 in Landsberg an der Warthe , † March 28, 1947 in Bergholz-Rehbrücke ) was a German writer .

Life

Paul Schulze-Berghof was the son of an electricity foreman . He spent his childhood in the Havelland , the Warthebruch and the Oderbruch . After his confirmation , Schulze-Berghof completed an apprenticeship at the preparatory institute in Königsberg in the Neumark as well as at the teachers' seminar there , which he successfully completed in 1893. He then worked as a primary school teacher in the Küstrin region , in Alt-Driebnitz and Reitwein . In 1896 he was transferred to Wandsbek near Hamburg . He conducted extensive private studies, especially in the fields of art and literature. After he had published a number of essayistic works since 1905 , he gave up teaching in 1912; he lived as a freelance writer in Munich , Berlin and Potsdam .

Paul Schulze-Berghof was the author of novels , short stories , essays and plays . His narrative works on topics from the time of Frederick the Great were particularly successful .
