Paul Toshihiro Sakai

Paul Toshihiro Sakai (born March 23, 1960 in Ashiya , Hyōgo Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Osaka .

Life

Paul Toshihiro Sakai was established in February 1988 Member of the Opus Dei and received on 20 August 1988, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He holds a PhD in theology from the University of Navarre .

On June 2, 2018 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Nova Barbara and auxiliary bishop in Osaka. The Archbishop of Osaka, Thomas Aquino Man'yō Cardinal Maeda , donated him episcopal ordination on July 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Nagasaki , Joseph Mitsuaki Takami PSS , and the Archbishop of Tokyo , Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi SVD .
