Paula von Bülow

Wilhelmine Pauline (Paula) Elisabeth Marianne Julie Luise Karoline von Bülow ( pseudonym : G. von der Elda ; born September 30, 1833 in Berlin as Paula Countess von Linden ; † June 7, 1920 in Dresden ) was a poet and painter as well as the chief stewardess of the former Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin .

Life

On his father's side, Bülow comes from the noble family Linden , which had its origins in the Principality of Liège . Her father was Franz a Paula Graf von Linden (1800–1888), her mother Marie, b. Baroness von Hügel (1807–1886). She grew up in Vienna and married Bernhard Vollrath von Bülow , Grand Ducal Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Chamberlain and Legation Councilor , envoy to the German Bundestag in Frankfurt am Main on September 25, 1858 in Berlin . The wedding in the Matthäuskirche was carried out by Carl Büchsel .

From 1868, Bülow was chief steward of the former Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin at the Schwerin court. Later she was in Venice for over ten years , then in Graz . Her memoirs were published with the work Aus verklungenen Zeiten: Memoirs of Life 1833–1920 .

Bülow had three children with Bernhard Vollrath von Bülow: Marie-Louise (* 1859), later married von Gundlach , Ilsabe (* 1861), later widowed von Ferber, married von Arenstorff and Franz Joseph von Bülow .
