Pavel Svoboda

Pavel Svoboda (* 1987 ) is a Czech organist , harpsichordist and dramaturge .

Life

He received an education from 1995 to 2003 at the music school in Dobruška and then until 2009 at the State Conservatory in Pardubice with Václav Rabas . In 2008 he took a course at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Jaroslav Tůma and at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Leo van Doeselaar . Svoboda took part in master classes by Martin Sander , Susan Landale , Reitze Smits , Kamila Klugarová and Petr Rajnoha . He is currently (2015) working on a doctoral thesis at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Jaroslav Tůma.

  • In 2004 he was awarded first prize at the Opava International Organ Competition and a prize from the “Czech Music Fund”.
  • In 2007 Svoboda received 1st prize and Titul Laureate at the Brno International Organ Competition .
  • In 2008 he received the 2nd prize at the international organ competition " Petr Eben ".
  • In 2013 he was awarded 3rd prize at the Korschenbroich International Organ Competition .
  • 2013 Laureate at the Prague Spring International Music Competition .

He is organist and harpsichordist in the Barocco semper giovane ensemble, with whom he has given hundreds of concerts (including the Prague Spring Festival ). He records for radio and works as a dramaturge and co-organizer of various classical music festivals.
