Pawel Alexandrowitsch Walentenko ( Russian Павел Александрович Валентенко ; born October 20, 1987 in Nizhnekamsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has played for Yuzhny Ural Orsk since August 2018 .
Career
Pavel Walentenko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2005/06 season , where he remained pointless in two games and received two penalty minutes. Most of the season, however, he spent with the second team of Neftechimik in the third-rate Perwaja League . In the following season he prevailed as a regular at Neftechimik and prepared two goals in a total of 54 games in the Superliga.
During his time at Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk, Walentenko was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 in the fifth round as a total of 139th player by the Canadiens de Montréal . For their farm team , he ran on during the 2007/08 season in the American Hockey League . There he began the following season , after which he returned to his Russian homeland in the course of the year. There he signed a contract with HK Dynamo Moscow , for which he only came to a total of 16 missions in the following year and a half in the Continental Hockey League . From 2010 to 2012 he played again in the American Hockey League, but this time for Connecticut Whale .
For the 2012/13 season Walentenko was committed by HK Awangard Omsk , where he was a regular in the KHL straight away. In August 2013 he left Omsk after the club exchanged him for Dmitri Vorobyov from Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod .
In December 2014, he and Georgi Gelashvili were exchanged for Mikhail Birjukow and Alexei Pepeljajew from HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk . In September 2015 he returned to Avangard Omsk in exchange for Vladimir Pervushin .
Since May 2016, Walentenko has been under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk again.
International
For Russia , Walentenko took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 , where he won the silver medal with his team.
