Paweł Kubicki (1871–1944) auxiliary bishop in Sandomierz 1918–1944

Paweł Kubicki (born January 15, 1871 in Radom , † February 11, 1944 in Sandomierz ) was a Polish clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Sandomierz .

Life

Paweł Franciszek Kubicki, the son of Kazimierz and Franciszka b. Suchecka attended high school in Radom and entered the seminary in Sandomierz after graduating from high school . After studying theology , he received the sacrament of ordination on July 16, 1893 from the Bishop of Sandomierz , Antoni Franciszek Ksawery Sotkiewicz . After his work in the parish pastoral and in the school service he became a candidate for theology at the Theological Academy in St. Petersburg in 1904 . In 1907 his bishop called him to the regency at the seminary in Sandomierz.

Pope Benedict XV appointed him on July 29, 1918 auxiliary bishop in Sandomierz and at the same time titular bishop of Canatha . He received his episcopal ordination on December 1st of the same year by the Bishop of Sandomierz Marian Józef Ryx ; Co-consecrators were Augustyn Łosiński, Bishop of Kielce , and Karol Józef Fischer , Auxiliary Bishop in Przemyśl . In addition to his duties as auxiliary bishop, he built a house for retired priests in Sandomierz, to which he retired in 1937. In 1939 he resigned from the office of auxiliary bishop.

He found his final resting place in his hometown of Radom.
