Pedro Celestino Silva Soares (born January 2, 1987 in Tarrafal ), called Celestino , is a Cape Verdean football player . The midfielder has been under contract with Atlético CP since summer 2015 .
Career
Celestino came to Portugal in 2003 at the age of 16 in the Sporting Lisbon youth team . There he did not manage to get into the first team squad. In 2006, he left Sporting to join CD Olivais e Moscavide , which had just been promoted to the Portuguese second division, the Liga de Honra . After relegation in 2007 , he moved to league competitor GD Estoril Praia , six months later first division Estrela Amadora signed him. There he became a core force. After the club's license was revoked in 2009, he moved to Belenenses Lisbon , with whom he had to relegate at the end of the 2009/10 season .
After missing promotion, Celestino left Portugal in the summer of 2011 and joined the Romanian first division club CFR Cluj . There he was rarely used in the 2011/12 season, but won the Romanian championship with the team at the end of the season. In summer 2013 he left Cluj and returned to Portugal, where first division club SC Olhanense signed him. With his new club he had to relegate at the end of the 2013/14 season due to the lost direct comparison with FC Paços de Ferreira . He stayed with the club in the Segunda League. In the summer of 2015, he joined league rival Atlético CP . With his new club, he had to relegate from the Segunda League after the 2015/16 season .
