Pedro Manuel Salamanca Mantilla

Pedro Manuel Salamanca Mantilla (born June 4, 1961 in Bucaramanga , Colombia ) is a Colombian Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Bogotá .

Life

Pedro Manuel Salamanca Mantilla studied at the seminary of the Archdiocese of Bogotá. He later obtained a licentiate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University . On November 30, 1986, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Bogotá.

After being ordained a priest, he initially worked in parish pastoral care. From 1988 to 2012 he was used intermittently in the formation of priests. From 2006, until his appointment as bishop, he was also the archdiocese's commissioner for further training for priests. In 2012 he was also appointed pastor of the parish of St. Norbert in Bogotá.

On November 7, 2015 Pope appointed him Francis to the titular of Aquae in Mauretania and auxiliary bishop in Bogotá. The episcopal ordination donated it and the same time appointed Luis Manuel Herrera Alí the Archbishop of Bogota, Rubén Salazar Gómez Cardinal , on 12 December of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, Archbishop Ettore Balestrero , and the Archbishop of Villavicencio , Óscar Urbina Ortega .
