Daniel Pedro Martinho Teixeira (born September 7, 1998 in Neuchâtel ) is a Swiss - Portuguese football player who is under contract with BSC Young Boys in the Super League .

Career

society

Teixeira spent most of his youth in the youth department of Neuchâtel Xamax . In the 2016/17 season he switched from the U18 team of the "Fondation Gilbert Facchinetti " to the first team and signed his first professional contract for two years. He made his debut on the second match day on July 29, 2017 in an away game against FC Wohlen (0-0). Teixeira was substituted for Max Veloso for a short time in stoppage time in the second half . On the third match day against FC Wil (3-2), he scored his first goals. By the end of the season, he had 24 missions in which he scored 7 goals.

On August 30, 2017, after the start of the new 2017/18 season , Teixeira moved to BSC Young Boys in the Super League , where he signed a four-year contract until summer 2021. His first appearance for the Bernese came in the second round of the Swiss Cup against BSC Old Boys Basel (4-0). In addition to an appearance in the UEFA Europa League in the last group game against KF Skënderbeu Korça (2: 1) and another appearance in the Swiss Cup, Teixeira played the season mainly for the second team of the Young Boys in the first division . They played for promotion to the Promotion League until the end , but failed in the second round of the promotion games at FC Red Star Zurich .

National team

Pedro Teixeira played a total of seven games for the junior national teams of Switzerland. On September 1, 2016, he made his debut in the international match between the Swiss U-19 national team and Slovakia. The following year he played another six games for the U-20 national team .
