Pehlivanköy is a district in the province of Kırklareli in Eastern Thrace .

geography

The district is the smallest in the province. It borders on this district in the north and east, on the province of Tekirdağ in the south and on the province of Edirne in the east . In addition to the district town of the same name (2018: 44.8% of the district population), the district consists of eight villages ( Köy ) with an average of 246 residents. The spectrum of the population ranges from 385 ( Yeşilova ) to 58 ( İmampazarı ), four villages have more than 246 inhabitants. The population density (34.3) is lower than that of the province (55.9 inh. Per km²).

history

The district emerged when it was separated and made independent in 1958 - until then the southwestern part of Babaeski district .
