Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is woolly hairy. The yellowish-green young leaves are hairy like a cobweb.
  • The medium-sized leaves are five-lobed and moderately curved (see also the article leaf shape ). The stalk bay is open like a lyre. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are set medium-wide compared to other grape varieties.
  • The cylindrical to pointed cone-shaped grapes are large, elongated and loose berries. The elongated berries are large to very large and whitish in color. The skin of the berry is thick. The crunchy flesh has a barely perceptible nutmeg aroma.

The variety ripens about 35-40 days after the Gutedel and is therefore considered to ripen very late. Perlona is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphroditic flowers and is therefore self-fruiting. In viticulture , the economic disadvantage of not having to grow male plants that produce yield is avoided.
