Pernilla Margareta Stephanie Winberg (born February 24, 1989 in Limhamn ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has played in the Riksserien for Linköpings HC since 2014 and is one of the best Swedish ice hockey players.
Career
Pernilla Winberg began her career with the Limhamn Limeburners HC , for which she played in the J18 SuperElit until 2006. From 2004 she was used in parallel at AIK Solna , where she developed into one of the best ice hockey players in Sweden. With the AIK she won the IIHF European Women Champions Cup and the Swedish Championship four times in a row .
From the 2008/09 season she played for the women's team of the University of Minnesota Duluth , the Bulldogs , in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and scored 41 scorer points in 38 games. In 2009 she returned to Sweden for a year to prepare for the 2010 Winter Olympics with the national team. At the same time she played for the Segeltorps IF in the Swedish Riksserien, whose championship the club won in 2010.
International
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she won the silver medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the Swedish women's national team . Winberg was the youngest player in the Swedish Olympic squad.
In the semi-final game against the Americans , she scored the decisive goal for the final in the penalty shootout .
So far, she has completed 227 internationals for Sweden, as well as three internationals for the country's U22 women (as of February 2015) .
