Pernille Holst Holmsgaard (born September 6, 1984 in Pandrup , Denmark ; born Pernille Holst Larsen ) is a former Danish handball player .

Career

Holmsgaard started playing handball at Jetsmark HK. The right-hander later moved to Horsens HK , with whom she played in the Danish top division. In 2007 she joined league rivals Aalborg DH . With Aalborg, the backcourt player was runner-up in the 2008/09 season. From summer 2009 she went hunting for goals for GOG Svendborg TGI . Shortly thereafter, GOG formed the HC Odense syndicate with Odense Håndbold, for which Holmsgaard continued to play. From summer 2011 she was under contract with Viborg HK. In summer 2013 she moved to København Håndbold . In the 2016/17 season Pernille Holst Holmsgaard was under contract with Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub , with whom she won the Danish championship. Then she ended her career.

For the Danish national team , Holmsgaard played 136 international matches in which they scored 124 goals. She was part of the squad of her national association at the 2009 World Cup in China . In summer 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London . Pernille Holst Holmsgaard won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Cup and scored three goals in eight games.
