Pete William Conacher (born July 29, 1932 in Toronto Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Blackhawks , New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs from 1949 to 1966 .

Career

Pete Conacher began his career as a hockey player in the junior league of the Ontario Hockey Association , in which he was active from 1949 to 1952 for the Galt Red Wings and Galt Black Hawks . Towards the end of the 1951/52 season , the attacker made his debut for the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League , preparing a goal in two games. In the following two years he was a regular with the Blackhawks, but also came to 29 missions for their farm team St. Louis Flyers from the American Hockey League and scored 28 points, including twelve goals. After he had started the 1954/55 season with the Chicago Blackhawks, he was given on November 23, 1954 together with Bill Gadsby in exchange for Rich Lamoureux , Allan Stanley and Nick Mickoski to the New York Rangers . With these he was also a regular in the NHL in the following year and a half.

From 1956 to 1958 Conacher played mostly for the Buffalo Bisons in the AHL, but ran in the 1957/58 season in five games for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL, where he prepared a goal. In the 1958/59 season, the left shooter was on the ice for the Belleville McFarlands in the amateur league Ontario Hockey Association. He then spent another year with the Buffalo Bisons in the AHL. From 1960 to 1966 he was a leading player for the Hershey Bears in the AHL. He then ended his career at the age of 34.

International

For Canada , Conacher took part in the 1959 World Cup. In eight games he scored seven goals and gave three assists.

Pete Conacher comes from a family with a long tradition in ice hockey. His father Charlie Conacher and his uncles Lionel Conacher and Roy Conacher were just as professional ice hockey players as his cousin Brian Conacher .
