Peter Baptist Tadamarō Ishigami OFMCap ( Japanese ペ ト ロ ・ バ プ テ ィ ス タ 石 神 忠 真 郎 , Petori Baputisuto Ishigami Tadamarō ; * December 1, 1920 in Kasari , Kagoshima Prefecture , Japan ; † October 25, 2014 ) was a Roman Catholic bishop from Nahar .

Life

Peter Baptist Tadamarō Ishigami joined the religious order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on September 6, 1952 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 18, 1972 as the first bishop of the diocese of Naha established on the same date . The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Japan , Archbishop Bruno Wüstenberg , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Asajirō Satowaki , Archbishop of Nagasaki , and Paul Shinichi Itonaga , Bishop of Kagoshima .

On January 24, 1997, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
