Peter Dürst (born April 14, 1936 in Gera ) is a German prop master in film and television. He has worked for well-known cinema productions such as Das Boot , Enemy Mine - Geliebter Feind , Schtonk! , U-571 or Buddenbrooks , as well as for the TV series Lawyer Abel and Munich 7 .

life and career

Peter Dürst, born in Gera in 1936, originally wanted to become an aircraft manufacturer. After abandoning his studies in mechanical engineering, he initially worked as a tour guide, taxi driver or butler, as a career changer he finally came to film in the mid-1970s and began his career as a set designer for romantic dramas such as Das Schweigen im Walde by Alfred Vohrer or Waldrausch by Horst Hächler . In 1978 he met the director Wolfgang Petersen who hired him for his television film Black and White as Days and Nights . Later in the 1980s, they also worked together on the successful cinema productions Das Boot and Enemy Mine - Geliebter Feind .
