occupation

Die Einsteiger is a German comedy film from 1985 with the "super noses" Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger . It premiered on October 30, 1985.

action

Mike invents a device with which one can "get into" video films. He and roommate Tommy, an unsuccessful writer and gas station attendant, experience numerous adventures in this way, until both a German and a Japanese electronics company become aware of the invention. What follows is a crazy cat-and-mouse hunt between reality and virtual video worlds. The two end up in an adventure film à la Indiana Jones , a vampire film alluding to the Dance of the Vampires , a Rocky- like boxer film and a classic gangster film. Further segments deal with a detour to the South Seas, a western and, last but not least, ancient Rome in Nero's time . Both friends also find their great love each.

background

Die Einsteiger was made from May 20 to June 29, 1985. The filming locations were Munich, Kreuzenstein Castle in Lower Austria, Gran Canaria and Gambia . This is the fourth and last joint film by Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger after pirate station Powerplay , Die Supernasen and Zwei Nasen super . With allusion to the two noses of the leading actors, these films are also referred to as super noses films. The theme song Supernoses was sung by the Oliver Onions .

occupation

In each of the adventures, the Austrian actor Kurt Weinzierl plays different, predominantly homosexual roles in which he is fixated on Mike.

Werner Kreindl , known as Kommissar Göttmann from the SOKO 5113 series, plays a police officer named Kommissar Gierke . Gierke is the name of the company that produced SOKO 5113 for ZDF ("ELAN-Film, Gierke & Company").

As a vampire, Udo Kier, a real star of the classic horror film, could be engaged.

Thomas Gottschalk's wife at the time, Thea Gottschalk , also had a small supporting role in this super nosy film.

Reviews

Adolf Heinzlmeier and Berndt Schulz described the film in their lexicon "Films on TV" as "stupid fun of the new German comedian dream couple". (Rating: 2 out of 4 possible stars = average)

"The successful duo of the German stupid film - Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger - has struck again, according to their own script," wrote the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger .

For the lexicon of international film it was a "[l] inconsiderably staged comedy attempt that gives away the appealing initial idea through dramaturgical weaknesses and poor actor performances".

DVD

The film was first released on DVD on November 5, 2001. On October 24, 2005, another DVD version was released. The current version is the version of MCP.
