Peter Dahlqvist

Peter Dahlqvist (born January 12, 1956 in Borås ) is a former Swedish football player . The striker made his career in his home country and the Netherlands, where he won the championship in 1975 and 1976. In 1976 he came to an international match for the Swedish national team .

Career

Dahlqvist played from 1971 for the Gothenburg club Örgryte IS in the Allsvenskan . On his debut on October 17, 1971, at the age of 15 years, 9 months and 5 days, he was the youngest player in the top division to date, a record that lasted almost 36 years until Nicklas Bärkroth's first appearance in the first division in 2007.

Already in the 1972 season Dahlqvist had established himself in the competition team, with three goals this season he was also the third best internal goalscorer behind Pär-Olof Ohlsson and Lennart Ottordahl . In the following season he did not miss a season game and was now with five goals this season behind Ohlsson the club's second best scorer, but he rose with the club at the end of the season in the second division. There he played another six months, during which he further improved his hit rate and had scored seven goals by the summer.

From the summer of 1974 Dahlqvist was under contract with the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven , where his compatriot Ralf Edström already played. With three goals in 17 games this season he contributed to winning the championship title, the following year he was successful in defending his title five times in 24 games. He also won the double in 1976 with the team alongside Willy van de Kerkhof , René van de Kerkhof , Adrie van Kraay and Huub Stevens, and a goal by Edström made the final of the KNVB Cup in April 1976 against Roda JC Kerkrade won. Four weeks later he appeared in the 2-1 defeat against Denmark alongside Björn Nordqvist , Ove Grahn , Ronnie Hellström and Kent Karlsson as an international player, after 76 minutes he was replaced by Tommy Evesson . This was his only international appearance.

1977 Dahlqvist returned to Örgryte IS after 57 games in the Dutch Eredivisie , in which he had scored twelve goals. For the second division he was double-digit success in 1978 with 15 and 1979 with 18 goals this season, but the return to the Allsvenskan only succeeded at the end of the 1980 season. He then ran for three years for Gothenburg in the top division.
