Peter Goller

Peter Goller (* 1961 ) is an Austrian historian and archivist at the University of Innsbruck .

Education and professional career

Goller completed studies in history and German at the University of Innsbruck in the 1980s. In 1986 he was with the work of the professorial chairs of philosophy at the University of Innsbruck for Dr. phil is doing his doctorate. Goller has worked at the Innsbruck University Archives since 1988 - in the first few years under the direction of Gerhard Oberkofler , from whom he took over the management of the archive in 2002. In parallel to his archivist work, Goller obtained his habilitation in the history of science as a historian in 2001 and has been teaching in this field at the University of Innsbruck ever since.

Goller wrote numerous contemporary historical and biographical publications on the history of the University of Innsbruck, working closely with Gerhard Oberkofler. In addition to the joint main work History of the University of Innsbruck (1669–1945) (two editions in 1996), Goller published a variety of individual studies on the history of Innsbruck's research operations in the late 19th and 20th centuries.

A second research focus in Goller's work is the history of the Austrian labor movement . In the context of the Alfred Klahr Society , he published several historical works that deal specifically with the history of ideas and the historiography of the labor movement.
