Peter Hobbs (actor)
Peter Hobbs (born January 18, 1918 in Étretat , France , † January 2, 2011 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American actor .
Life
Peter Hobbs was the son of Dr. Austin L. Hobbs and Mabel Foote Hobbs. He was born in the French spa town of Étretat and grew up in New York City . He attended Solebury School and then studied acting at Bard College . During the Second World War he was with the pioneers and took part in the Battle of the Bulge . Having previously in 1942 with the play Under This Roof on Broadway debut, he returned after the war back to Broadway. From the 1950s he played sporadically in television series and from the mid-1960s also regularly in film.
After a brief illness, Hobbs passed away on January 2, 2011 at the age of 92 at his home in Santa Monica. He left behind his wife, to whom he was married for 28 years and had three daughters together, two step-sons, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
