Peter John Elliott

Peter John Elliott (born October 1, 1943 in Melbourne ) is an Australian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Melbourne .

Life

The Archbishop of Baltimore , Lawrence Joseph Cardinal Shehan ordained him a priest on February 19, 1973 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on April 30, 2007 titular bishop of Manaccenser and auxiliary bishop in Melbourne. The Archbishop of Melbourne, Denis Hart , donated him episcopal ordination on June 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were George Cardinal Pell , Archbishop of Sydney , and Ambrose Battista De Paoli , Apostolic Nuncio to Australia .

Elliot is a member of the Episcopal Commission for Liturgy for the Diocese of Melbourne. He is also active in the Vatican Commission for “Anglicanae Traditiones”.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 3, 2018.
