Peter Kunz (journalist)

Peter Kunz (born March 28, 1962 in Remscheid ) is a German journalist and foreign correspondent . On February 1, 2016, he took over the management of the ZDF state studio in Lower Saxony in Hanover .

Life

Peter Kunz graduated from high school in Radevormwald in 1981 . He then completed a newspaper traineeship at Remscheider General-Anzeiger and the Westdeutsche Zeitung in Remscheid and Düsseldorf until 1983 . There he also completed accompanying studies in economics . In 1984 he became regional radio and television correspondent for Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne . From 1987 he completed a scholarship at the correspondent program “Journalistes en Europe” in Paris and was co-editor of the magazine Europ . Since 1988 he has been working for the Second German Television (ZDF). There he worked in the Hamburg State Studio and in the main editorial office for domestic affairs until 1990 , as well as a travel correspondent in the former GDR . He also studied political science and psychology . In 1991 he took over the representation of correspondents in Turkey and the USSR . Until 1992 he was an editor in the main foreign affairs department and moderated the show auslandsjournal extra on 3sat . From 1993 to 1998 Peter Kunz reported on the Central African region as head of the Nairobi studio . Until 2000 he was political correspondent in the ZDF capital studio in Berlin and moderator of the daily news magazine heute - in Europe . Back in Mainz he co-developed, deputy headed and moderated the ZDF reporter magazine ZDF.reporter until 2003 . From 2003 to 2016 he was head of the ZDF studio in Singapore and was responsible for South and Southeast Asia as well as Australia / Pacific .
