Peter "Pete" Lovett (born March 3, 1950 ) is a British entrepreneur and former racing car driver .

Racing career

Peter Lovett was successful in the British Touring Car Championship in the 1980s . He finished the championship in 1981 as overall sixth (Master Win Percy ). Lovett contested the championship on a Rover 3500S for Tom Walkinshaw's team . In 1983 he was one of the championship favorites alongside his teammates Jeff Allam and Steve Soper . However, the TWR team was disqualified during the season due to unauthorized changes to the Rover emergency vehicles . Lovett also competed for the team in the European Touring Car Championship . Together with Allam and Soper, he finished third in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race in 1983 .

Between 1977 and 1982 he competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race five times . In none of his missions he was able to place in the final ranking.

Entrepreneur

After his racing career ended in 1987, Lovett took over his father's company. At several locations in the south of England, including Bath and Bristol , it sells vehicles from BMW , exclusive sports cars from Ferrari , Maserati , Aston Martin and Porsche .
