Peter Müller (born April 6, 1910 in Ruswil ; † November 20, 1965 in Bern ) was a Swiss politician of the KVP / CVP .

biography

Peter Müller was born on April 6, 1910 in Ruswil as the son of master cheese maker Peter Müller Sr. and Aloisia, who was also born Müller. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg and Vienna , before taking his doctorate in 1939 and being admitted to the bar . Subsequently he worked as a lawyer in Ruswil until his death.

Peter Müller was married to Anna, née Widmer. He died on September 20, 1965 at the age of only 55 in Bern.

Political career

Peter Müller, member of the Christian Democratic People's Party, held from the beginning of his political career in 1940 to 1963 the office of the mayor of Ruswil. At the same time, Müller was appointed governor of the Sursee office from 1940 to 1964 . At the cantonal level, he represented his party from 1943 to 1963 in the Lucerne Grand Council , which he also chaired in 1955. In addition, he took a seat on the Council of States for the canton from 1955 to 1965 . In addition, he presided over the finance delegation of the Federal Assembly . He also served as Vice President of the University Council and from 1961 to 1965 of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission .
