Peter Pühringer

Peter Pühringer (born January 7, 1942 in Allstedt ) is an asset manager , fund manager and patron . With an estimated fortune of 311 million euros, he is one of the 40 richest Austrians.

The son of an Austrian watchmaker, grew up in Allstedt in the GDR , studied civil engineering in Sangerhausen after graduating from high school and then worked in the planning and construction of precast factories in Saudi Arabia . In the 1980s he invested in apartment buildings in Berlin . Since 1996 he has been managing director of ZZ Vermögensverwaltung. Pühringer has been disclosed by him and Christian Hirschmann managed emerging markets - and high interest rate - pension funds ZZ1, ZZ2 and ZZ3, launched in 1996-1998. The term ZZ stands for interest rate cycle. The three funds have since been merged. The volume is currently (as of February 2019) around 870 million euros. Pühringer has a new tax domicile in the Swiss canton of Lucerne , in Vitznau . He donated 5 million Swiss francs to the community, thereby reducing taxes.

Private foundation

Coburg Palace

Through his private foundation POK Pühringer Privatstiftung, Peter Pühringer is the owner of the Palais Coburg in Vienna , which is also the seat of the Institute for Strategic Capital Market Research (ISK) he founded .

According to its own information, the foundation has made around 100 million euros available for charitable purposes since it was launched. The promotion of the Vienna Boys' Choir with an amount of more than ten million euros aroused public attention . In this context, the construction of the MuTh concert hall in Vienna's Augarten Park, which is protected by nature and heritage, was controversial . The construction of a hotel in Weggis ( Switzerland ) was also rejected for reasons of nature conservation law . The construction of a compromise project, the "Hotel Hertenstein", began in 2010 and was completed in 2013.
